Technology consultancy IDS Group has appointed a new financial controller, Alice Winckle, as part of the firm’s continued investment in its operational infrastructure and strategic growth.
Alice brings a strong track record of financial leadership within fast-paced, high-growth digital environments. At IDS, she will lead the transition to bring the company’s finance function in-house — a move designed to provide clearer performance insights, more efficient processes, and stronger alignment with the group’s long-term commercial goals.
Her day-to-day responsibilities include overseeing all financial operations, developing forecasting models, auditing revenue and expenditure, and working cross-functionally to deliver accurate, timely management information. She will also play a key role in budgeting and performance analysis to support data-led decision-making at every level of the business.

Commenting on her appointment, Alice said: “What drew me to IDS was the opportunity to join a forward-thinking team during a key moment of growth. Transitioning the finance function in-house is a significant step, and I’m excited to shape that change — ensuring the business has the financial clarity and agility it needs to scale successfully.”
Alice has been a financial controller since 2017, primarily supporting digital agencies where performance data and collaboration across departments are critical. She’s currently nearing the end of her CIMA qualification and previously held the position of interim finance director — a role that gave her valuable exposure to strategic leadership and organisational planning.
“As IDS continues to scale, I see finance evolving into a more analytical, insight-driven function — one that supports every area of the business, from investment decisions to operational improvement,” she added. “It’s a chance to build strong foundations while also becoming a strategic partner in the business.”
“Alice brings the expertise, energy, and commercial mindset we need to evolve our finance capability,” added IDS founder and CEO Nick Halliday. “Her appointment marks an important step in strengthening the business from the inside out and ensuring we’re well positioned for the future.”
Outside of work, Alice is a music fan, tennis player, and qualified scuba diver — with Glastonbury and the Mediterranean among her favourite destinations. She’s also enjoying the firm’s hybrid working model and the picturesque surroundings of IDS’ Bowcliffe Hall HQ.
“Even in my first weeks, it’s been clear that IDS is a genuinely supportive place to work. It’s a great environment for personal and professional growth — and I’m excited to be part of what comes next.”
