The requirement

Wash Doctors needed a complete rebuild of their existing digital booking platform to allow its network of independent valeters and specialist detailers to confirm appointments with end-users via the firm’s desktop and mobile applications.

A major challenge was creating a future-proof system that remained simplistic for user-friendly interaction whilst also offering flexibility for the upscaling of functionality.

Wash Doctors initially brought IDS Group onboard to help overhaul the existing back-end system, which was failing to keep up to the number of bookings and enquiries that were be received.

Having worked at all levels of projects, from start-ups to large-scale and complex assignments with some of the world’s biggest brands and organisations, Wash Doctors had the belief that IDS could not only design and develop the new AutoMate platform, but also create a secure architecture that would allow for significant upscaling in the future.

Our solution

After initially overhauling the existing back-end system for the web-based platform, IDS were able to develop a faster, cleaner digital booking experience for both the patron clients and network of car care professionals.

As a result of the technical input from the team, the booking system is now far more efficient and capable of supporting the increased reservation demands and user traffic, which were previously causing functionality issues on the app and website.

In addition, the IDS Group was commissioned to create a new white-label bespoke cloud-based system, AutoMate, which allows for the sharing of third-party data to be integrated into the updated booking tool. This further improved the usability of the platform for Wash Doctors’ associated partners across the UK.

The results

With functionality and ease-of-use in mind, the new AutoMate booking system uses cutting edge technology to create a cloud-based ‘catch-all’ master calendar that allows for Wash Doctors to integrate with their own bookings — creating a simple one-step function.

Built with consumers in mind, the booking tool allows for a much sharper and intuitive interaction, improving the overall booking experience for clients and service providers alike.
