Behind the screens with Antanina Stankevich

Our team Q&A allows us to spotlight the people behind the projects – sharing their stories, insights, and maybe an app they can’t live without!

Next up, it’s project manager, Antanina Stankevich…

It’s the classic story of a woman on maternity leave who suddenly decides to change her career trajectory!

I’d spent the previous 15 years in the journalism and broadcasting industry. After analysing my empathy, organisational, and communication skills, analytical thinking, and ability to work with lots of data, I decided I’d be a good fit for a project manager or business analyst role. Now, here I am at IDS, doing just that!

I’m an early riser, and have been known to start work as early as 6am. I enjoy the morning hours the most, especially when I’m in the thick of a task that requires deep focus. I then wake up my son, get him ready for school and drop him off before getting back to work. Throughout my day, I’ll have numerous chats and calls — overseeing several projects at once. Because of this volume, there is no typical routine, as there are always new challenges and needs occurring each day, which requires me to be adaptable above everything else.

Analyse your hard skills and strengths to understand which role will be a better fit for you. From there, develop a strategy to reach your goal.

It’s difficult to say — there are so many moments that make me proud of myself or my colleagues. I am part of a dream team, where everyone is willing to do whatever it takes to reach our goals and lead clients’ projects to success.

We don’t simply write the code. We dive deeper into each unique business challenge and, as a technical partner, we find the best solution.

Ambitious, reliable, experts.

Of course, my favourite part of a project is the final delivery. As a project manager and business analyst, I am responsible for people’s happiness, and I feel truly fulfilled when both the client and colleagues are happy.

I believe it’s all about AI. I’m sure it won’t replace people — at least not in the next 12 months — but it’s a game-changer for the IT field in terms of speed, quality, and developing new approaches for complex solutions. So, harnessing this power — instead of running from it — is key.

For work, it’s Jira. Though the tool is rather complicated, it allows me to track the progress, predict blockers, see obstacles and receive tons of statistics and data regarding each project. In my personal life, it’s Telegram, where I read news, educational articles, and stay connected with my friends and family.

With my family. We like to go on one- or two-day trips learning about new cities, places, culture, and food.
